Happy Valentine's Day

The most important thing when it comes to finding love with a disability is to be open and honest about it. Do not hide it. Being self-assured, humble, intelligent, and loyal towards your partner. Be affectionate and realize you are special to that person.

There may be candy, flowers, and teddy bears but it's the little things (cooking together, doing chores together, serenading them on the guitar or piano, or taking a walk) that matter. Don't ever take advantage or make them feel like they don't know anything. Stay away from revenge or social media comments! Actions speak louder than words.

Treat people the way you want to be treated especially in relationships. I have dated someone who gave me the experience of a lifetime. We went on a dinner cruise in the Baltimore harbor. It made me feel special. He was romantic. Love is a language that can be spread all around the world.

Believe in yourself and have a very happy Valentine's Day!
